CFP Syllabus — What To Expect

In India, the syllabus for CFP Course has changed with effect from 1st June 2020. In the new CFP syllabus, a unique new program has been introduced which is a 4-in-1 certification program. This means that in one single program, you technically get awarded 4 certificates. Now, there are four levels that must be completed for FPSB to award you the internationally valid certificate.

CFP Level 1 — Investment Specialist

In Level 1, your knowledge on equity, debt and mutual funds are tested.

CFP Level 2 — Retirement and Tax Specialist

This is the level where your knowledge on wealth building, retirement planning, tax filing, income tax, tax saving and planning are accredited.

CFP Level 3 — Risk and Legacy Specialist

In the third level of certification, you get certified for risk planning, general and life insurance and real estate planning.

CFP Level 4 — Certified Financial Planner

Finally, in the fourth level, you get certified as a FP and are eligible to advice on investments and financial planner. This is an internationally recognized certification.

Scope for e-Learning

Nowadays, the scope of completing a new certification has become easier with online education. As a working professional, it may not be easy to attend offline classes to complete CFP. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get the certification of your choice.
